UPDATE ON PLEE TO SAVE TREES

12 year old Emily Qureshi from Listowel is taking her concerns about a proposed subdivision to the Ontario Municipal Board. She has made an appeal to give Terrier Inc Draft Plan Approval . She is concerned about the impact on the wooded portion of the 6 acre property where the subdivision is planned. Allowing the subdivision to advance goes against North Perth and Perth County by-laws with regards to woodlots. But as alot of us know in North Perth......some can and some can not. Good going Emily, you are a wonderful example for all.

The only reason Emily has got so far is because she is just a child. It looks bad to bully or just run rough shod over a child.

We retired from Mississauga to live here. This trail system and access to wood lots was the reason we moved here. With its demise, it is the reason we are moving out.

Because of the way the trees are being cut down, new development plans EVERYWHERE, tuning out the average person's objections to the rampant development plans, we are making plans to relocate.

I object to the way homeowners along the trail system are grabbing land and sodding extra trail property. It seems the Trail Committee has no policy on this. It seems Council does not want to upset the new home owners. So, we are losing the natural habitat alongside the trail system in addition to all the woodlots.

...seems I'm the only one who knows what we had and now it's gone! (Think Joni Mitchell's Song Big Yellow Taxi, and the line the day Paradise put up the Building Lots."

Hey, Emily... maybe you can use this as your theme song! Keep going, I'm with you, for sure.

Again I thank you for your comments.I am from this area and moved away but did come back after many years. I am thoroughly disgusted at what has happened here with planning and decisions etc and at one point was ready to move away again but I am going to stay and try and make a difference
